TrueBird Privacy Policy

YoungWon Studio (“Company”) values your privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. This policy applies to the TrueBird application (“App”) provided by the Company.

1. Information We Collect Directly

The App does not require registration or a TrueBird account. We do not operate an app backend, advertising service, or analytics service, and we do not directly collect your quotes or usage history through the App.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and message needed to handle your inquiry. We may retain them for up to one year after the inquiry is resolved, or longer when applicable law requires retention.

2. Quotes and Local Storage

The App stores the quotes, optional titles, sources, original links, recorded dates, tags, and related metadata you create in local app storage on your device. Themes, notification times, and widget settings are also stored per device. This data is used to provide capture, editing, search, calendar, widget, notification, theme, and recovery features. The Company cannot access it in the default local-only mode.

3. Optional Private iCloud Sync

iCloud sync is off by default. If you explicitly enable it, eligible quotes and tags are stored in your private CloudKit database so they can sync between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. The Company does not operate a separate sync server and does not use private CloudKit records for advertising or analytics.

Turning sync off keeps the local copy and does not automatically delete existing private CloudKit records. You may need to manage iCloud data separately through your Apple Account and iCloud settings. For Apple’s data practices, see the Apple Privacy Policy .

4. Share Extension and App Group

The Share Extension processes only text or a URL that you explicitly provide from another app. It saves the content as a temporary draft in the on-device App Group container for safe import into TrueBird. The draft is removed after a successful import. If cleanup fails, it remains available for a later cleanup attempt to avoid silent data loss. The App does not scrape or otherwise collect content from the host app.

5. Widgets and Notifications

The widget reads a limited snapshot stored in the on-device App Group container. A saved quote may be visible on your Home Screen when you place a widget, and you control widget placement and visibility through the operating system.

Notification times and schedules stay on the device and are used only for local notifications that show saved quotes at times you choose. Notification permission is requested when you set up the feature. The remote-notification capability is used for private CloudKit change events, not for marketing messages.

6. Advertising, Tracking, and Third-Party Analytics

The App does not display advertising, use advertising identifiers, or track you across apps or websites. It includes no third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

7. Payment

TrueBird is a paid-upfront App Store app with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Apple processes the purchase, and the Company does not receive your full payment-card details.

8. External Links and Sharing

The App does not provide a bulk export feature for your records. If you open an original link saved with a quote, the privacy practices of the selected website or app apply. Input through the Share Extension is handled on-device as described in Section 4.

9. Data Deletion and Your Rights

You can review, update, and delete individual quotes and tags inside the App. Deleting a tag does not delete the text of connected quotes. Deleting the App removes its local app data from that device, subject to normal device backup behavior. Existing private iCloud records may not be deleted automatically merely by turning off sync or deleting the App, so you may need to manage them separately in iCloud storage.
