DahongMemo Privacy Policy

YoungWon Studio (“Company”) values your privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. This policy applies to the DahongMemo application (“App”) provided by the Company.

1. Information We Collect Directly

The App does not require registration or a DahongMemo account. We do not operate an app backend, advertising service, or analytics service, and we do not directly collect your memos or usage history through the App.

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address and message needed to handle your inquiry. We may retain them for up to one year after the inquiry is resolved, or longer when applicable law requires retention.

2. Memos and Local Storage

The App stores the memo body, folder, tags, favorite state, and related timestamps you create in local app storage on your device. Drafts, theme and appearance preferences are also stored per device. This data is used to provide writing, editing, organization, search, recovery, and personalization features. The Company cannot access it in the default local-only mode.

3. Optional Private iCloud Sync

iCloud sync is off by default. If you explicitly enable it, eligible memos, folders, tags, and favorite state are stored in your private CloudKit database so they can sync between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. The Company does not operate a separate sync server and does not use private CloudKit records for advertising or analytics.

Turning sync off keeps the local copy and does not automatically delete existing private CloudKit records. You may need to manage iCloud data separately through your Apple Account and iCloud settings. For Apple’s data practices, see the Apple Privacy Policy .

4. Home Screen Widgets and App Group

The widget reads a limited snapshot stored in an on-device App Group container. The snapshot can contain a preview of memos you marked as favorites, their folder and tag names, and identifiers needed to open the selected memo. A saved memo may be visible on your Home Screen when you place a widget, and you control widget placement and visibility through the operating system.

The widget does not open the App’s SwiftData or private CloudKit store directly. Widget paging and filter state remain on the device.

5. In-App Purchase

The optional Lifetime Unlock is a non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase that removes the limit on creating new memos. It is not a subscription. Existing memos and reading, editing, deletion, search, folders, tags, themes, widgets, and optional private iCloud remain available without purchase.

Apple processes app and in-app purchases. The App verifies purchase entitlement on-device through StoreKit. The Company does not receive your full payment-card details and does not operate a server that stores purchase receipts or transaction history.

6. Advertising, Tracking, and Third-Party Analytics

The App does not display advertising, use advertising identifiers, or track you across apps or websites. It includes no third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

7. External Links and Support

The App may open YoungWon Studio’s privacy and support pages or your device settings when you choose the corresponding action. The privacy practices of a website or service you open outside the App apply there. The App does not fetch or display third-party feeds or public user content.

8. Data Deletion and Your Rights

You can review, update, and delete individual memos, folders, and tags inside the App. Deleting a tag removes its relationships without deleting connected memo text. Deleting the App removes its local app data from that device, subject to normal device backup behavior.

Existing private iCloud records may not be deleted automatically merely by turning off sync or deleting the App, so you may need to manage them separately in iCloud storage. There is no separate account-deletion process because the App has no account.
